Titus

I Love and appreciate the life that the Lord has given me to live for Him. Awe, but unfortunately I have not always been capable of affirming this.  Most probably, because I was lacking in maturity, knowledge and contentment at that moment in my life. A mixture of many things I would say. How I would of loved to have a spiritual mature woman in my life at that moment to help me in those difficulties, to understand certain things, to guide me through my many difficult situations. But alas! There was none at my disposition or they where hiding!

The mentoring system or the mandate of Titus 2: 3-5, is a subject that has been a dear passion of mine for many years now. Maybe because I suffered from not having an older woman in my life, and today I practice it with younger women since it is asked of us.  This leaves me extremely passionate to learn and listen to the needs on the subject.

Like most of you know, I am studying and writing another book. Here are a couple of questions that I am often asked and I would love to have your point of view and comments as a reference for my next book. Don’t hesitate to write to me, I will be more than pleased to read your responses and promise that your name will remain anonymous.

You will be able to download a document in which you can write your answers (Word format) and send it to me afterwards to the following email: annlbeaulieu@gmail.com

Question on the older

If you have any other reflections or comments, they are more than welcome. Thank you for taking the time to answer. I appreciate you co-operation very much and this is helping in my documentation for the book.

God bless you abundantly!

Book James

Lol

I am always as thankful to be Grand’ Ann and James is growing so fast! He is already 5 weeks old. This little sweetheart has charmed my heart. I have already started his personal library, to read to him of course. I buy him beautiful books containing wonderful images. Of course I read the book entirely before, therefore assuring myself of its context being sound in theology or morals according to the Word of God.

Personally, I went and bought myself a book from Kevin DeYoung – “Crazy Busy”, because I think I really need it!!!  My life is so occupied to say the least, I must find a way to be more disciplined or cut out secondary things. But what??? I’ll come back on that after having read the book!

On November 2 we are having a women’s conference at our church and I am the invited speaker this year! This is somewhat special and exciting for me to be speaking at my own assembly
I appreciate the fact to be able to share with my sisters. Our theme is:  has feminism fogged up our vision on our role as women according to the Word of God? I do believe that I am more excited then they!!!

In the meantime I am continuing to work very hard to write on my new book, and I am advancing at the speed of baby steps. I have fixed an attainable date that I hope to achieve by God’s grace

The other smaller “secret” project  is going well, slowly, but surly
anxious to talk to you about it! Ah, I know this isn’t to kind of me, yet for now I really can’t. God willing, soon I will be able to start giving some information or titbits of news. Till then, know that my brain is working HARD
 really hard!

And finally reading and more reading, as always. My dear hubby is starting to find that there is no more room in our house for books. (Which is true)  Despite the fact that I have some books on my iPad, I prefer paper way more. Ah! I am a long way from stopping to order books! There is nothing to compare with the odour of books and its touch. I love books, bring on the real thing! The deliveryman of UPS is starting to know me really well by now. He comes to my home very often. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even ask my name anymore! LOL

A few words on « hospitality » from Aimee Byrd

Housewife

« These days, the word hospitality is a subterfuge – a ruse for the industrious. Its meaning has been so distorted that we can’t tell if it’s something we offer or something we buy. Hospitality seems to be devalued as a family’s vocation while being respected as a profession. The feminists want to make it an outdated strategy of patriarchal control. They want to outsource it… and outsourced it has been! Capitalism has capitalized on the family’s inadequacy in this area. You can obtain a very respectable university degree in hospitality. In a Google search of the word hospitality, most sites one finds are about the hotel, casino, restaurant, and catering industries. This is a big-bucks production!

Many of my generation were raised by full-time working mothers. These moms were told that their work at home (laundry, cooking, cleaning, raising kids) was meaningless. To be respected as contributing citizens, they needed to work outside the home. So why would they hand down to their daughters the skills necessary for keeping a home? No, no, they wanted to teach their daughters something much more valuable for living in the « real world. » Besides, there was just no time to hand down such trivial, archaic traditions. The irony of it all is that these days it has become much more respectable to watch someone else’s kids, make someone else’s dinner, and clean someone else’s  house that it is to care for one’s own. »

Wow… This is great stuff Aimee! I am seriously considering translating this part as to place in my book that I am currently writing these days. I find it to be so well articulated and true. I couldn’t agree more. Loving everything that I have read so far… book review soon. Grounded Theology, Amen!
